3D Printed Eyewear Workshop Held in Hong Kong

(SizeChina.com) 3D printing is revolutionizing the way eyewear is designed, manufactured and sold. Designer Jeffrey Leung partnered up with SizeChina, a 3D anthropometric research project at the School of Design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, for a 3 day workshop on 3D printed eyewear design. The event was to give designers, artists and engineers “hands on experience” on how to create their own personal eyewear brand without having to manufacture anything themselves. Workshop attendees left with:

1) One high resolution headscan file in IGES format

2) One 3D frame file in STL format

3) One 3D printed frame based on simple design in basic plastic material.

4) A 3D Printed Eyewear Design Workshop certificate.
