Medical and Engineering Sessions Added to Inside 3D Printing Asia-Pacific Conference
(Wall Street Journal) Mediabistro Inc. announced that several new sessions focusing on 3D printing’s impact on medicine and engineering have been added to its Inside 3D Printing Conference & Expo Asia-Pacific event on October 1-2, 2013 in Singapore.
3D printing’s ability to revolutionize medicine through 3D printed body parts and specialized assistive devices has motivated conference organizers to make medicine a key theme of the event. These sessions include 3D Printing a Healthy World, Reconstructive Surgery and 3D Printing, and Medical Image Based Engineering — Orthopaedic Application, which will be led by Dr. Phil Reeves of Econolyst Ltd, Thiam Chye Lim of National University of Singapore, and Ranjit Singh GILL, a specialist in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery, respectively.
Additional new sessions focusing on design, manufacturing, and innovation include 3D Printing: A Bridge Between Engineers and Innovation?, Design and Innovation in 3D Printing, Consumer 3D Printing and the New Pirated Product Economy, and Setting Up 3D Printing Production Environment in Industrial Scale. These presentations will not only explore 3D printing’s influence on products, but on society and how we live and do business.
Keynote presentations will be delivered by Terry Wohlers, Principal Consultant and President of Wohlers Associates Inc., and Avi Reichental, President and CEO of 3D Systems.
Attendees will experience the most recent developments in 3D printing firsthand in the event’s expo hall, featuring exhibitors 3D Systems, Materialise, and Stratasys.
